"Science and Entrepreneurship Coffee Talk Show" on March 12 2023

“Science and Entrepreneurship Coffee Talk Show” is a monthly show with the aim of providing information related to scientific research and entrepreneurship to students of Can Tho University. In each program, there will be different topics and speakers will share about their experiences in conducting scientific research and building startup ideas.

The 7th “Science and Entrepreneurship Coffee Talk Show” with the theme "Start-up story: From school to market" was shared by speakers:

- Mr. Luong Nguyen Duy Thong - Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial Business Association, Founder of Que Minh Co., Ltd

- Mr. Tran Cao De - Director of Center for Students Consultancy, Assistancy and Start-up of Can Tho University

- Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Tien - Secretary of the Union of Can Tho University

The content of the program revolves around the concerns of students when they first embark on the path of entrepreneurship. There have been a lot of questions such as: "How to find capital for the start-up process?", "What core principles do we need to know in order to start a successful business?" , "Is starting a business now a trend? With a large number of startups today, what do you say?", "Should I find a stable job or embark on the entrepreneurial path?" …

We are currently living and working in an environment that is clearly shifting towards digitization such as digital technology, digital economy, digital society. Therefore, there have been many questions about whether digital transformation is an important issue that businesses need to pay attention to. The two speakers also shared in-depth their views on this issue, and gave advice to students on the skills they need to be equipped to adapt in the new context.

Continuing the program, the speakers also shared about building a Canvas Model for businesses. This is a model that every entrepreneur or startup takes as a guideline for their activities. Mr. Duy Thong has raised a number of main and specific areas in the Canvas model that young startups need to focus on to have an overview and build an effective path for their startup project.

The talk show took place successfully with the presence of more than 150 students and teachers at Can Tho University. Hopefully, through the honest and frank sharing of the speakers on the current startup issue, it has contributed to providing new information as well as opening a new perspective for the students in the formation and construction of Building startup ideas.
