The US Mission to Vietnam announces the selection of candidates for the Vietnam Fulbright Scholar Program (VSP) 2024 as follows:

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates for the Fulbright Scholars Vietnam program are required to:

- Hold a master's or doctoral degree (or equivalent in some specialized fields)
- Being a Vietnamese citizen
- Have a good command of English for research or teaching in the United States
- Applicants must be university lecturers, or officers/experts from ministries or government agencies, or specialists in the private sector/research institutes/non-governmental organizations. The program is of interest to candidates with outstanding achievements in academic or professional research. Candidates must be living in Vietnam during the application and selection process of the program. Applicants are required to return to serve in Vietnam after the program in the United States ends.

Candidates are not eligible to apply if:

- Currently teaching, studying, or conducting research in the United States, or have received a Fulbright Fellowship during the last five years
- Have been granted a US J visa under a Professor/Research Scholar exchange program within the past two years

Scholarship duration: Candidates can choose a scholarship for one semester (equivalent to 5 months) or one academic year (equivalent to 9 months).

- Applicants who choose a one-semester scholarship: must start in September 2024 or January 2025
- Applicants who choose a one-year scholarship: must start in September 2024

- Research outline (3-5 pages)
- Research bibliography / Bibliography
- Scientific background
- Letter of recommendation (requires 3 letters of recommendation)
- Letter of invitation from the receiving school in the United States (recommended, but not required)

Research/teaching fields: Applicants in all professional fields within the Humanities & Social Sciences, Science, and Technology are eligible to apply.
