The contest "Understanding ASEAN and Korean cultures" is organized by the Youth Union of Can Tho University to welcome the Youth Union Congress at all levels. The contest will be held from Dec 07, 2021 to Feb 14, 2022 through a series of three contests: “Colors of Korean – Vietnamese cuisine”, “Viet Nam – My Homeland”, and "Understanding ASEAN and Korean cultures".

Purposes of the Contest:

♥ To propagate and raise student awareness about the culture of ASEAN countries and Korea; towards the 55th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN (August 8, 1967 - August 8, 2022).

♥ To help students get deeper understanding about the role and importance of building the ASEAN community, to raise their awareness of being an ASEAN citizen; thereby self-equipping with knowledge and skills to be ready to work and live in the  ASEAN community.

Participants: 

Students who are studying at Can Tho University. Depending on each contest, students can participate individually or in groups of up to 3 members

Note: Members of the Organizing Committee and the Judges Board are not allowed to participate in the contest

Timeline:

1.The “Colors of Korean – Vietnamese cuisine” contest: 

- A 5-8 minute video clip to share a guidance to cook a Vietnamese or Korean meal. Product will be sent to email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. via student email. Please label your mail with the title Colors of Korean – Vietnamese cuisine contest

- Timeline: from Dec 07, 2021 to Dec 31, 2021

- Participants: individual or group up to 3 members

2. The “Viet Nam – My Homeland” contest:

- Infographic design to introduce specialties, cuisine, local culture , sceneries of Viet Nam. products will be be sent to email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. via student email. Please label your mail with the title Viet Nam – My Homeland contest

- Timeline: from Jan 01, 2022 to Jan 31, 2022

- Participants: individual 

3.  The "Understanding ASEAN and Korean cultures" contest:

In order to advise and support first-year students with difficult circumstances (belonging to groups receiving social assistance, students of ethnic minorities, students from poor households, near-poor households and with extremely difficult circumstances). ,…) quickly adapts to the university-level learning environment and has an organizational orientation, manages the study plan, training and activities more proactively and effectively, Center for Students Consultancy, Assistancy and Start-up organizes a meeting to give advice on learning orientation, training and organizing how to adapt to the university study environment for first-year students course 42.

Content:

– Information about the general rules of the school; Introduction to important departments involved in the school's communication, management and student support, notes and warnings for students.

- Introduce useful websites for students.

- Introduce some methods of planning, managing study, training and living at university level.

- Advise on regimes and policies for specific student groups; introduce student support programs, advise on methods of finding scholarship information, and support students with difficulties.

- Exchange and answer questions directly between leaders of relevant units and first-year students

– Awarding Nguyen Kim's scholarship to the valedictorian with difficult circumstances and other gifts for the attending students.
