AUN_KU

“AUN-KU Winter Seminar on Human Security Development and Energy Science” is co-organized by the Graduate School of Energy Science (GSES) of Kyoto University and the ASEAN University Network-Kyoto University Student Mobility Program toward Human Security Development.  It is designed for undergraduate students to study the concept of Human Security Development (HSD) and Energy Science. The main theme of this seminar is energy development, which is an important issue in Human Security Development. The participating students are expected to deepen their knowledge on human security development and energy science with the prospect of finding solutions to technological, socio-economic and political issues in Asia specifically. The seminar will offer lectures and class discussions as well as organize field trips and cultural events. Applicants are not limited to engineering, economics, or science – all fields are welcome.

Criteria and eligibility

  1. Undergraduate students from AUN member universities 
  2. Students in all fields are welcome
  3. The number to be admitted: 20 students (15 with JASSO scholarship eligibility and 5 with non-scholarship)

Costs

  1. Participation fee: JPY 10,000 This fee includes field studies, and other necessary expenses during the seminar. All participants should pay this fee in cash in JPY on the first day of the seminar. 
  2. Participants are also required to organise and pay the following costs: 
    • A round-trip flight ticket 
    • Travel expenses between the airport (e.g. Kansai International Airport, Osaka International Airport (Itami)) and Kyoto. 
    • Fees related to visa applications 
    • Travel insurance 
    • Cost of meals
  3. Kyoto University will reserve a hotel for all participants. (Accommodation costs are covered by the programme)

Scholarship

The 15 applicants as selected by the programme committee will be eligible for a scholarship from JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization). The amount of this scholarship is JPY 80,000 per person (tentative).

It is my great pleasure to introduce the 2nd Walailak University Cultural Camp 2018 (WUCC2018) in the theme of “In Honour of HRH Princess Chulabhorn Walailak: Cultures without Borders”. The camp will be held between 16th - 23rd June 2018 at Walailak University, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province and Bangkok, Thailand. 

Purpose: The camp aims to encourage the exchange of innovation ideas and entrepreneurship thinking between the younger generations in Asia. Through this program, we hope to facilitate cross-border startups, promote and share the development of regional economic resources and services. The 10-day program covers activities including entrepreneurship courses, ideas exchanging (between the participants and the investors), company visits, and cultural experience trip.

*For the ideas exchanging on the last day of the camp, each team will pitch to the venture capital and angel investor, and have the chance to get investment for your idea.

Date: August 1-10, 2018

Eligible participants:

  • 40 students (20 students from Southeast Asian countries and 20 Taiwanese students)
  • College or university students with passion and ideas of innovation and entrepreneurship. (including graduate and Ph.D Program students)
  • Participants should have fair/good English communication skills (at least fluent for daily life conversation.)

We Offer: Full subsidy for round-trip airfare (between participant’s home country to Taiwan), accommodation, and meals during the program.

Invitation to Participate in
ASEAN STUDENT ENTREPRENEURSHIP NETWORK (ASENet) CONVENTION
Universiti Sains Malaysia
 
The Student Entrepreneurship and Personal Development Centre, Student Development Affairs & Alumni Division, Universiti Sains Malaysia in collaboration with the Student Representative Council, USM will host the Convention on ASEAN Student Entrepreneurship Network (ASENet) from 20th to 23rd January 2016 at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Main Campus, Penang.
This convention also aims to develop entrepreneurial networks within ASEAN countries with the involvement of 20 Higher Education Institutes in Malaysia and 13 Higher Education Institutes from ASEAN countries. The newly found networks will be established under ASENet which will be officiated during the convention.
