Center for Student Consultancy, Assistancy and Startup was established in April, 2015 as a part of Department of Student Assistance of Can Tho University with the function of providing free services for learner support on studying, physical and psychological counseling, career orientation and recruitment.

In August, 2018 it was upgraded into an independent center of CTU under the Decision No. 3235/QĐ-ĐHCT signed by Rector of Can Tho University and was added two more duties as managing soft-skill training and supporting for startup projects and startup incubation of students.

Functions:

CTU's Center for Student Consultancy, Assistancy and Startup is responsible for gathering, connecting, coordinating and assisting both internal and external units in providing consultancy and assistance for students, which include:

-  Planning, organizing, supervising, assessing the consultancy and assistance for the university students;

-  In coordination with other partners, providing information sessions about the entrance exam to the university and career talks for students;

-  Managing soft-skills and startup training programs; Collaborating with the Youth Union and Student Union to organize short courses training on soft skills; extra-curriculum  activities, contests and events that meet students’ demands.

-  Gathering requests for consultancy and assistance about learning, psychological and physical health from students and provide direct counseling or forwarding to the units in charge.

-  Collaborating with business and relative partners in enhancing the research, learning and job opportunities for learners; Organizing events related to career fairs, workshops and career orientations for students.

- Administrating CTU' Job Website (https://vieclam.ctu.edu.vn/), Center Website (https://scs.ctu.edu.vn/) and Fanpage (https://www.facebook.com/cscctu/).

-  Strengthening the network between recruiters and students to update internship programs and job opportunities for students. 

- Managing inbound and outbound student exchange programs.

- Cooperating to local startup ecosystems and local government units to foster startup activities (competitions, training, seminars,...) at university; managing  and consulting "Startup Seed Fund" supported by the university to selecting and seeding students' startup projects.

-  Receiving and forwarding projects, cooperating programs of entrepreneurs to in-charge units and establish a good relationship with business people.

-  On the basis of annual data from the university graduates, building a vocational database to help students have more opportunities of finding a job; collecting recruiters’ reflection on the quality of graduate students to serve for training program assessment and improvement.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Regarding the Selection of Projects to Participate in the 7th "Students with Startup Ideas" Competition
(SV_STARTUP – 7th Edition)


Pursuant to Decision No. 3953/QD-BGDDT dated December 10, 2024, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on the promulgation of the Plan and Regulations for the 7th "Students with Startup Ideas" Competition (SV_STARTUP – 7th Edition), the Center for Student Counseling, Support, and Entrepreneurship hereby announces the selection of potential startup projects to participate in the competition as follows:

I. ELIGIBILITY

  • Students of Can Tho University who have startup ideas/projects.

  • Student startup projects that have won awards in Can Tho University’s 2024 competitions related to entrepreneurship and innovation, or similar competitions organized by other universities, colleges, and local organizations in 2024.

  • Startup projects or products by Can Tho University students, which have been in operation for less than three years.
