The U.S. Mission to Vietnam is seeking candidates for the 2022 Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Professional Fellows Program on Civic Engagement, Economic Empowerment, Governance and Society, Sustainable Development and the Environment. The application deadline is November 15, 2021.

The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a public diplomacy program designed to advance regional strategic goals, break down barriers that separate the next generation of leaders in Southeast Asia, and link those emerging leaders to the United States.

The YSEALI Professional Fellows Program (YSEALI PFP) is a two-way U.S. Department of State exchange program designed to strengthen people-to-people ties between young leaders from Southeast Asia and the United States. Through intensive fellowships designed to broaden their professional expertise and enhance their leadership capabilities, YSEALI PFP provides emerging Southeast Asian leaders with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in, and exposure to, U.S. public and private sector offices working on a variety of issues. The 2022 YSEALI PFP is planned as a hybrid program, which will include virtual activities and an in­person U.S.-based institute.

The YSEALI PFP will be administered in two cycles in 2022. Please note that this call for applications is for both cycles. Applicants will only participate in one cycle and can indicate their preferred cycle in their application.

PROGRAM DATES:

  • Cycle 1 : Virtual activities will begin in February 2022. The U.S.-based exchange is tentatively scheduled for June 13 - July 22, 2022.
  • Cycle 2 : Virtual activities will begin in May 2022. The U.S.-based exchange is tentatively scheduled for September 12 - October 21, 2022.

The in-person component in the United States will be organized taking into consideration all necessary safety guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state and local authorities.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Be a YSEALI member. Join YSEALI at https://asean.usmission.gov/yseali/.
  • A citizen and current resident of either: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste or Vietnam;
  • Be emerging leaders in government, civil society, or the private sector and have demonstrated expertise pertaining to the respective theme for which they are applying;

J Be 25 to 35 years old at the start of the program, currently employed and have two or more years of relevant professional work experience;

J Be self-directed with demonstrated leadership and collaborative skills and are able to work effectively in a cross-cultural setting;

J Be able to identify an objective/project of their own selection that the applicant would like to implement in their home workplace or community;

J Have demonstrated proficiency in written and oral English.

“TÌM KIẾM NGÔI SAO KHỞI NGHIỆP SÁNG TẠO

- EDTECH VIETNAM 2021”

Hưởng ứng Nghị quyết số 29 của Ban chấp hành Trung ương Đảng về  đổi mới căn bản toàn diện giáo dục và đào tạo và thực hiện Quyết định số 844/QĐ-TTg ngày 18/5/2016 của Thủ tướng Chính phủ về việc phê duyệt Đề án “Hỗ trợ hệ sinh thái khởi nghiệp đổi mới sáng tạo quốc gia đến năm 2025” (Đề án 844), Quyết định số 188/QĐ-TTg của Thủ tướng Chính phủ ngày 09/2/2021 về việc sửa đổi, bổ sung Quyết định số 844; Cục Phát Triển thị trường & doanh nghiệp KH & CN, Bộ Khoa học và Công nghệ giao Trung tâm hỗ trợ khởi nghiệp sáng tạo quốc gia (NSSC) chủ trì, phối hợp với các đơn vị tổ chức cuộc thi “Cuộc thi Tìm kiếm ngôi sao khởi nghiệp sáng tạo - EDTECH VIETNAM 2021” với thông điệp “Chia sẻ tri thức - Kết nối cộng đồng - Cổ vũ sáng tạo”.

Cuộc thi “EDTECH VIETNAM 2021” là hoạt động nằm trong chuỗi sự kiện “NGÀY HỘI CÔNG NGHỆ GIÁO DỤC EDUTECH 2021” trong khuôn

khổ TECHFEST Việt Nam 2021, nhằm tôn vinh các giải pháp công nghệ phát triển giáo dục số ứng dụng. Ngoài ra, cuộc thi còn được tổ chức nhằm lựa chọn các doanh nghiệp khởi nghiệp sáng tạo (startup) và đề án khoa học công nghệ phục vụ chuyển đổi số có tính ứng dụng cao hoặc tạo đột phá trong lĩnh vực giáo dục và một số lĩnh vực liên quan.

Cuộc thi có sự tham gia phối hợp của của các đơn vị, bao gồm: Trường Đại học Kinh tế Quốc Dân; àng Edtech - Techfest Vietnam; BK Holdings; BK Fund; Công ty cổ ph n Công nghệ Giáo dục Nova; Công ty Cổ ph n Truyền thông Vietnam Startup TV; O Talk Media; Câu lạc bộ Doanh Nhân Trẻ Khởi Nghiệp - YBC Start-up. Chương trình còn nhận được sự đồng hành của các đơn vị: Hiệp hội các Trường Đại học và Cao đẳng - Trung tâm CESTR; Trung tâm OFE; Cộng đồng Ochain cùng rất nhiều cố vấn, chuyên gia trong hệ sinh thái khởi nghiệp đổi mới sáng tạo.

Đến với cuộc thi EDTECH VIETNAM 2021, các startup sẽ được đồng hành giải quyết những thử thách về việc nhận diện thị trường mục tiêu, xác định vị thế cạnh tranh, xác định mô hình kinh doanh tối ưu, nâng cao năng lực tiếp thị và bán hàng của đội nhóm, định giá, hoàn thiện hồ sơ gọi vốn và tiếp cận nhà đ u tư tiềm năng. Cụ thể, chương trình sẽ mang lại những kết quả sau cho các nhóm nghiên cứu: (1) Cơ hội nhận giải thưởng bằng tiền mặt, gói ươm tạo, cơ

 

hội đ u tư lên đến 210 triệu đồng; (2) Cơ hội đại diện làng Edtech tham gia  cuộc thi tại TECHFEST Quốc gia; (3) Cơ hội tham gia cộng đồng khởi nghiệp, cơ hội nhận đào tạo miễn phí.

NUS will once again be running the TF LEaRN programme in Academic Year 2020/21 Semester 1 (August to December 2020) and we would like to invite your university to nominate your students to apply for the programme.

About the Programme:

The TF LEaRN Programme @ NUS aims to nurture the next generation of Asian leaders by providing opportunities for cultural exchange, networking, community engagement and leadership development. Selected students will be have the opportunity to take one semester of academic courses in NUS, participate in community service work and take part in TF LEaRN activities such as Learning Journey, Service Leadership Event, Young Asian Leaders Forum etc. Successful applicants will receive S$6,500 from Temasek Foundation International to support their living expenses in Singapore. Eligibility Criteria:

Nominated students must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Are undergraduates who completed at least one year of study in their home universities
  • Are studying in their country of citizenship

  • Are interested in community service and have served in leadership positions
  • Able to fully commit to all aspects of the programme

NUS will contact your nominated students directly to submit their application.

Students must upload this list of supporting documents in their application. This list should be scanned in the following order and saved as a single file, are:

   q Latest transcript from the home university

   q Documentary evidence of community service activities

   q Documentary evidence of leadership activities

   q One letter of recommendation by character referees (from professional/academic/extra-curricular background)

  Late or incomplete applications received after the stipulated deadlines will not be considered.

Non-graduating Exchange Programme Application

Students must complete this application in order for us to process their studies at NUS for one semester. If this application is not completed, then their TFI LEaRN Programme application will automatically NOT be considered.

Online application system is open from 21 March to 15 April 2020. Student to submit their application as an Exchange student (applicants are to click on Non-Graduating (NG) Programmmes).

All necessary supporting documents (refer to checklist) should be uploaded to the online application system by 15 April 2020.

+Each item mentioned above should not exceed 1MB for successful online uploading.

+ Late and incomplete applications might not be processed in time for admission in the respective semester.

Note: Students should use their home university email address instead of their personal email address when submitting their online application.

Application Outcome:

Students will be informed of their application outcome for the TF LEaRN Programme @ NUS by early-May through their email, by which they will need to confirm acceptance of the award within 1 week after receiving the offer.

By mid-June, the Registrar’s Office will notify the students on the outcome of their Non-graduation Exchange Programme application, more specifically on their module (course) selection outcome.

As an additional note, students who are not eventually selected for the TF LEaRN Programme @ NUS will not be eligible to proceed with their application to do an exchange programme at NUS in Semester 1 with a fee waiver. These students may, however, consider to apply for Non-Graduating Non-Exchange which requires them to pay the NUS tuition fees for the semester that they are enrolled at NUS. Alternatively, students may be nominated by their home universities under the AUN-ACTS exchange agreement, which allows students to be nominated through the AUN-ACTS portal to come to NUS for exchange (with tuition waiver) in Semester 2 (Jan-May). However, places for the AUN-ACTS nominations are very limited and therefore very competitive.
